The Archives Committee consists of the Archives Committee Chair and district archivists. This committee is accountable to the Archives Steering Committee, whose four members serve four-year terms by appointment of the Area 02 Chairperson. The Area 02 Archivist is responsible for the gathering, preservation, organization and sharing of archival materials – the safeguarding of the Fellowship’s rich and meaningful heritage, particularly as it is evidenced in Area 02.

Cooperation with the Professional Community (CPC)

Members of this committee provide information about A.A. to those who have contact with alcoholics through their profession. This group includes health care professionals, educators, members of the clergy, lawyers, social workers, union leaders, and industrial managers, as well as those working in the field of alcoholism. Information about AA is provided, including what AA does and does not do and how to find AA locally. |

Correctional Facilities |

The Correctional Facilities Committee serves as a liaison with correctional facility administrators. Additionally, the committee coordinates and provides guidance to individual A.A. members and groups who are interested in carrying our message of recovery to alcoholics behind the walls through pre-release contacts, the committee coordinates and smoothes the way from the facility to the larger A.A. community This committee is also concerned with clarifying what AA does and does not do, within the Traditions, to help inmate alcoholics both inside and upon release.

Finance

Reviews and presents the budget and financial reports to Area 02 assemblies, and makes recommendations for assembly consideration. The committee works to create an awareness of the spiritual benefit of group and district participation in ensuring that Area 02 is self-supporting and financially able to provide the services requested by its groups. The Alternate Area 02 Treasurer traditionally chairs the committee.

Members of the Grapevine Committee work to heighten awareness at the member, home group, district and area levels of the spiritual value of the Grapevine. Committee members keep Alaska AA's up to date on the easy availability of The Grapevine and its specialty items as sobriety tools. |

This review includes Conference-approved literature as well as service materials produced by any of Area 02’s districts, standing committees or central offices for use throughout Area 02. Committee reports inform the Area 02 Fellowship of Conference-approved literature and service material.

The P.I. Committee works to provide accurate A.A. information to the public when requested. P.I. committee members visit schools, businesses and community meetings for this purpose. They also serve as resources for our friends in the local media, emphasizing our Traditions of anonymity, singleness of purpose and non-affiliation, as well as offering A.A. public service announcements to radio and television stations. The PI committee chair also serves on the Website committee, presently a subcommittee of PI. |

Treatment Facilities |

The Treatment Facilities Committee serves as a liaison with treatment facility administrators. Additionally, the committee coordinates and provides guidance to individual A.A. members and groups who are interested in carrying our message of recovery to alcoholics in treatment facilities . This committee also encourages and supports district and group level efforts to “bridge the gap” from the facility to an A.A. group in the individual's community. In addition, the committee works to clarify what AA does and does not do, within the Traditions, and to help alcoholics in treatment without interfering in the treatment process. |

Serves as liaison between Area 02 DCMs and the General Service Office to ensure that Group information sheets are annually distributed, updated and forwarded to GSO. Receives reports from the groups through GSRs and through frequent personal contacts with groups in the district.

Holds regular meetings of all GSRs in the district.

Assists the delegate in obtaining group information in time to meet the deadline for A.A. directories.

Keeps GSRs informed about Conference activities; this includes setting up opportunities for the delegate's Conference report, occasionally making the Conference report if the delegate cannot be present, and inviting the delegate to regular district meetings.

Makes sure that GSRs are acquainted with The A.A. Service Manual, the Twelve Concepts for World Service, the G.S.O. bulletin Box 459, workbooks and guidelines from G.S.O., and any other service material.

Helps GSRs make interesting reports to groups, and encourages them to bring new A.A. members to service events.

Keeps groups informed about Conference-approved books and pamphlets.

Organizes workshops and/or sharing sessions on service activities.

Regularly keeps in touch with the alternate DCM and the delegate; sends district minutes to the delegate and alternate, and exchanges them with other districts.

Brings Traditions problems to the attention of the delegate.

Makes a regular practice of talking to groups (new and old) on the responsibilities of general service work.
